are not the only one who makes me laugh. You
are not the most macho man I know You
are not near enough for me to hold Yet
you are not too far for
me to reach with words and voice You
are not forgettable for
I remember you even when you are silent You
do not always think the way I do but
you are you You
give me reason to believe in sanity when
everyone else seems to be insane, including me You
give me hope that
there is such a word as humanity I
note it in your talk and your perceptions Yes,
you do make me smile and laugh like
many others I know The
only difference is that when you do, I
remember you long
after the smiles and laughter have gone And
long after you have said bye, You
are the echo that I hear in my soul Of
all the goodness that exists in man and
