UNWANTED

I cannot offer you the precious moon

Or the shimmering stars in the sky

I can only shower you with all my love

That will stay constant until the day I die.

I don’t promise to make you a king

With a shiny robe, a dazzling crown

But I promise to give you all of my smiles

To perk you up when you are down.

I cannot gift you this bountiful earth

The lovely mountains, rivers or the trees

I can only invite you into my heart

Lock you up, throw away the keys.

I don’t say life will be a bed of roses

Or a smooth sail across a calm sea

All of myself is all I have to give

But alas....you do not want me.
