Right Here Waiting For You

As my tiny hands wiped the

wet slime form my just born face,

I felt this first thud in my heart

tell me you were yet to come

And I waited for you...

As my nervous hands scrawled

the first letters of my life alone,

The kindergarten sighed a bit as if to

tell me you were yet to come

And I waited for you...

When I lost my first tooth and

my world and tears tumbled down,

My cheeks quivered under the wetness to

tell me you were yet to come

And I waited for you....

When my Dad left me at the hostel-

my little gaze fixed on his receding back,

I felt a lump grow in my throat as if to

tell me you were yet to come

And I waited for you...

When I wrote my first poem about the sea

and I got bumped for being a freak,

My faith grew all the more to

tell me you were yet to come

And I waited for you...

When I first fell in love

and got hurt all the same,

My soul caressed my hopes to

tell me you were yet to come

And I waited for you...

Now that I know who you are

and realize you are the one,

All this life n’ ever

I will wait for you.
