Festival of lights

Its not just the lamps & candles,
and fireworks that light the scene
The glow of affection & belonging
is everywhere clearly seen

Tiny tots twinkling with excitement
Doting parents, faces shining with pride
The cheerful atmosphere - radiant & warm
Love shone through, as, with joy it vied

Children sparkle, grand parents beam
Among relatives and friends, such elation, such gleam
Everyone happy and everything bright
All brilliantly adding to the dazzling sight

The festival of lights, has again come around
with luminous glitter and medley of sound
Though in my dark balcony, where I quietly sigh
It's just another day, slowly passing by
