BLAST TIME

The swirls of blankness waft

into my nostrils of belonging.

Numbing breathlessness courses

through my dying veins

of loneliness.

The chill in the mind’s landscape-

an aftermath of the blast time!!

Forlorn stumps of dry birch

reaching up in

gnarled helplessness.

I know I am bleeding

as my lips expand into a wry smile-

Nothing ever belongs to me

then why am I

in a hurry

to belong??
