Rain Dance

Face uplifted

To welcome the downpour

She sways languidly

With arms spread-eagled

Eyes squeezed shut

As the rain pelts its passion

Softly on her glowing visage

Slowly in a daze

She twirls a round

And a smile that had begun

Somewhere in the recesses

Of her aching heart

Floats out to touch

That yearning mouth

Champagne curls

That had danced in the breeze

Now lie replete

Saturated with moisture

And leisurely laden with its nectar

Drip-dripping droplets of diamonds

On her puckered bosom

The life giving dampness

Fuels a slow fire

And strokes dreams

That have long lain in a trance

Till the glimmer of the flame

Peers through the half opened eyes

And finds its echo in the skies…
