Lost

I am trying to find myself these days

Things that I lost along the way

The child inside that grew up too soon

The seasons I missed, the whiff of the monsoon

The smile that is around here somewhere, I saw it just a while ago

The trust that was betrayed, when a loyal friend turned into a bitter foe

The sunshine that warmed my bright blue sky

I wonder where I could find the twinkle of my eye

That bit of my heart, which I gave away

Those long lazy afternoons spent by the bay

The laughter that escaped me freely, like a bubbling brook

The making-a-wish at the sighting of a rook

The unwavering faith that dreams do come true

The belief that I was made for you

The innocence that was lost, as life unraveled itself

Come help me as I go about finding myself.
