IT ENDED LIKE THIS!

Screeching tires, a loud crash

Smashed car, broken glass

Silence shattered late at night

Mutilated bodies the only site!

Horrifying screams, agonizing cries

Blood spattered around, tear filled eyes...

Four young lives sniffed out before time

Gone forever, though still in our prime

Did we have to end like this?

When in life nothing was amiss....

I was fortunate, standing tall

Money, looks, brains, I had them all

It was on my sixteenth birthday

When my doting parents gifted me a grand car to play

A social snob, how proud I felt

Behind the power steering, secure seat belt

Zooming at high speed my latest toy

I would often forget I was just a young boy.

A perfect brat, nothing did I lack

Always living life on the fast track.

A teen party, roof-top, starlit

Boisterous youngsters, loud music

Just wanted to freak out and chill

Just popped in a few ecstasy pills

Just a few pegs, just a few fags

Just to be with the crowd, and not a drag

Danced into the wee hours

Then hopped into my car to go across...

Dulled senses, blurred vision

The feeling of exuberance and elation

No surprise, I lost control

Banged headlong into a pole

Can't blame destiny, can't blame fate

It was I who realized too late...

On my funeral pyre now I lie

Helpless, can't wipe the tears in mom's eyes

Ruined my home, brought pain to others

My friends died too, we were like brothers

No time to say sorry, no time to wish good bye

It all happened in the twinkling of an eye...

I learnt my lesson the hard way

Please don't emulate me, I pray

I had so much - a brilliant future ahead

But all ambitions grounded, as I am dead

Life was wonderful, such perfect bliss

What a tragedy, it ended like this!
