Emirates Ever United in Heart Too
An oasis in the deserts of Arabia Of tall trees made of steel and glass Dwarfing the dots of cars racing On well laid roads, confusing The visitors accustomed to Looking left to cross, get Honked by those who are Right.
Built brick by brick from desert sands By a Benevolent King with compassion In eyes and passion in heart to make The Emirates a welcome home to all. Loved by all he departed recently, Mourned by all as one family. Lights were dimmed in grief On Divali day, eyes blurred by tears.
A City always in a hurry, a city That is a home away from home For many across the seas, sweating Out to fill the families back home With bread to live and ‘biscuits’ To fill the status gap of Poverty And Prosperity.
The non residents fill the shops, Roads and offices, and roofs Under the bruising burning sun Building more blocks to touch the sky While at home the dear and near Ones like to ask for more what Earners have no time to enjoy.
Praise the Nation where all are one Under a most tolerant King who Allows the Vedic chants mingle with The Prayers from mosque next door. For the peace of the mankind who bleed The same colour , cry in pain or smile in joy, What ever the caste. creed or status.
People here prove to the world Hard work has rewards aplenty If one stays, sticks together as Citizens and yet follow their Culture disturbing none. The hearts yearn to help Any cause. Charity doesn’t End with Home but spreads Like a branch of The Banyan To shelter all the seekers.
To visit such a great country Is a lesson learnt on human values. The heart wonders, what Value does Gold hold? To buy or not to buy? That is the question. Hamlet had no answer. To me when heart is filled The answer is felt
Back home curious customs Ask “any thing to declare?” ‘No’ says the lips. ‘Yes’ says the heart ‘Love of the people that gold Cannot buy’
