TOGETHERNESS

Sometimes I dream of those days of togetherness
When hand in hand we used to walk along the riverbank
When we used to run in the woods
And feel the presence of each other!

Sometimes I dream of our promises...
Of those memories which linger in my soul
Those moments are treasured ones
Which I still very much adore!

It's been time now...
Since we got to know each other
Since we realized our priorities.
It seems a decade of time that's lapsed
And still I find ourselves standing there...
Where we were then,
Still holding hands and walking through the woods
Sitting near the riverbank!

And as I sit besides you
And rest my head on your shoulders
I realize it's losing its strength now
It's not as it used to be before
I realize -
The responsibilities have merged higher than moments of love
Its life, must say-
Full of responsibilities and tensions

But still, amidst all these problems
Is the feeling of togetherness
And forever together we would be -
Walking through all phases of life!

And I am sure, one day my dream,
My memories would refresh
And once again, we would be
What we were, before we realized our priorities
And before we married!

(I have written this poem imagining myself to be married to the person I loved and who has now faitgued due to responsibilities and tensions, I write this to encourage him to go ahead and tell him that I would always be by his side )
