THE SPASTIC CHILD AND US

There…

A body so perfect in stance

and cast in a rhythmic die,

the yielding eyes and the full hips

encompassed in an alluring dew drop.

But

why did you miss the shudder

that permeates the maiden's heart?

A perfect line from a perfect quill-

words glazed with imitable splendor,

as far reaching ripples trace a rich

carpet of fresh creativity.

But

why did you miss the shiver

that rose forth from the poet's heart?

But here...

Limbs mangled in a spastic curse

and mind locked in a time warp,

scalding every loving heart with

innocent tears that spell despair.

But

why did you miss the twinkle

in the kid’s eye

that rivaled a million stars?

A twinkle,

A glimmer,

A smile,

A hug,

is after all

the beginning

of

hope.

Never to be missed.
