INSOMNIA

I found I was not able to sleep.
I tried counting stars,
but you cannot count stars
on a false ceiling
I tried couting Sheep
, but I could not
because I did not know
whether to count Sheep
from left to right or vice-versa,
or how does one stop a sheep
from moving from
one place to another in a group.
It was then,
that I thought of Music.
I rushed back to my Walkman
with the speakers
and played a very old
and monotonous Cassette.
Not only I could not sleep,
it also brought down
a number of knocks on my door,
from agitated neighbours,
who also had lost their sleep.
Rather than one insomniac,
there was a bunch of insomniacs now.
It
was then
that I thought of
seeking your advice.
As I thought of you,
I started dreaming of you
with my open eyes
, and I never realised
when my eyes closed
and arms opened
and I found you in my arms,
smiling and wishing me GoodNight,
and then you softly
kissed my eyelashes,
and before I could realise anything,
I was in deep slumber.
It was the next morning,
when my complaining neighbour
asked me
as to how could I sleep so well
after keeping him awake
and how did I cure myself
of the INSOMNIA..
He will not understand,
even if I tell him ,
because he is a veterinary surgeon
dealing with animals.
Worse , even if he understands,
he would never believe it
because he does not know,
what it means to love
with the intensity of Life.
And it is this love
with the intensity of life
that I treasure for you.
GOOD NIGHT,
