ALCHEMY

Dawn breaks...and wipes away

Moonlight’s silver sheen

And lo, we see the golden Sun

Where once the Moon had been

In this show of splendid magic

All that’s silver turns to gold

The world wakes up, as the Sun

Weaves it’s spell of old

A glow of gold it casts upon

The red gold leaves of fall

And shimmers golden off the backs

Of horses grazing tall

A squirrel in its coat of gold

Scurries in a flash

In it’s grip a golden nut

To bury in the thatch

In myriad hues of beaten gold

The woken fish now gleam

As golden stars shine off the peaks

Of waves in endless stream
