UNKNOWN ANGEL

SHE rises at dawn

Without awaking the sun

Staring out at her lawn

And then she is gone.

Where to you ask?

When the sky’s still the colour of dusk

To awake her darlings, of course

The ones she treasures most.

Who’s this temperate angel?

Is she for real?

Who’s this caring angel?

From a fairy tale.

She does her work without a complaint

As she often says, no pain no gain

She’s made up of love and care

An angel I assume truly rare.

Who is she? You ask again

Someone as pure as rain

Who is she? You insist again

An angel sent to cure pain.

A healer and a mother

A queen and a goddess

She’s all of the above

The very symbol of love.

I shall reveal to you

This angel of mine

She’s in fact my beloved mum

Who’s truly one of a kind.
