The little girl in the white dress

There stood a girl in a white dress

All she wanted was a toy

A doll maybe, she couldn’t care less,

Anything that brought her joy.

There stood a clown

With a red nose and a big smile

Things changed when the clown frowned

The girl was speechless for a while.

Then the clown started singing

As he laid the little girl down

A song of horror, her head was spinning

But she was told not to make a sound.

What is he doing?

The little girl thought.

Why is he laughing?

When I am not.

I want my mommy,

The little girl yelled

Please, sir, get off me,

For I’m not feeling too well.

The clown had his share of fun

He passed her to his friends

The girl laid there, all stunned,

Her life was being blown away like sand.

The girl was finally left alone

As she tried painfully to get on her feet

Her face so white and hard as stone

She was far away from the streets.

The little girl now stands there in her dress

The little girl we knew before.

Even though she is wearing the same white dress,

Her dress is white no more.
