GUN TALKING

Let my gun do the talking

My mouth's full of shrapnel

Let my eyes do the thinking

My mind's someplace else

Dear Angel, do you see me running

No, I am a warrior

Just as he wanted you to be

We are the same, don't you see

Upon the battlefield

How many did you count

Washed up on the shore

All these faces in the dirt

Silver skin and blood on wings

I see a lonely child standing on one leg

Smiling at your graceful face

Will you swallow your pride now

My Dear Angel, see what it means to me

As tears start rushing down

And red is all around

Please make a case to him for me

We’re at war among ourselves

I heard a woman and her baby crying

We’re at war to save ourselves

So we kill and let the body keep bleeding

Arm and limb torn to bits

I am feeling proud for what I did

No it's not honor or sacrifice

Just pleasure mixed with strife

Bloody Angel, the promises you made

Were all lies told in the shade

Where are the stars that led my life

You stole them, and left me to die

The sun's burning down on me

Why doesn't it just kill me

Oh, don't let the birds arrive

I am still alive, I am still alive
