The
Whisper of the Wind

The three roads that lie ahead,
Separate ways at a crossroad,
Each turning to the unknown,
Decisions I have to take,
A journey to make alone,
The wind my solitary companion,
Maybe she knows
What lies beyond,
Where the sight can't reach,
And the depths of imagination
Are far too shallow.
She dances ahead,
Twirling around me in a breeze,
Perhaps she is laughing
At my uncertainty,
But her excitement carries me along,
For I want to believe,
And hence I do...
There are moments of doubt,
And then I ask her,
Try and retrace my steps,
But she laughs knowingly,
Blows through my hair
In a gentle caress,
Silent I wait,
But I get no answer,
Only an inaudible whisper in my ear,
"If you knew how it ended,
Would you enjoy the journey still..."
