The Saree...

How it cossets me

Encircling around

Round and round

Enfolding me

Into its complete

Completeness…

The first end at the waist

Tucks at the bared midriff

As a circle of your arms

Holding me close

As we walk together

Through life…

Then pleats freely at my feet

Mysteriously swaying, swinging

As I saunter, as if

With each careful fold

You reconfirm to me

Your desires for me bold…

Sinuously it encircles

And meanders

Enveloping my supple hips

As I drape my arms

Around you, when in deep

Deep passion, each other we mould…

To my bosom it possessively

Clings and caresses

Daringly, the way you

Conceal me in your arms

With intentions

That are impure by far…

The end trails, angel’s wing

Flowing free and long

As I fly along with you

Liberated to float where I may

Yet tied to the solemn

Promises to each other made…
