The Golden Jubilee

me

When he came to see her fifty four years ago

A tomboy she was, least interested in him

Would much rather have gone climbing trees

Than be clad in a six yard saree looking trim

Four years later a demure bride she became

Through thick and thin alongside him stood

Being a partner in sharing all joys and sorrow

Ever stoically every hardship she withstood

From humble beginnings he has scaled heights

Her strength and love being his main sustain

Not only partners in word and deed are they

But have through years their romance retained

Like a dewdrop in his palm he has nurtured her

Stood forever like his shadow besides him she has

Togetherness is what they truly epitomize

As in mind and deed a unique oneness they possess

Squabbled they have too softly many a times

And have had their minor differences sweet sour

But all is forgotten when the new morning dawns

And they unfailingly share breakfast on the patio bar

To share in the joy of this lovable golden couple

And celebrate their triumph of a Golden Jubilee

We seek your good wishes to shower blessings

So that they may together many more years see…
