Tainted  Night

How simple it seems

To chop away with a few words

All that had blossomed during the

Spring…

Can it all be so simple

To amputate and not even wince

Averting my eyes from the bleeding

Limb…

Harsh words in anger

Overflowing with seething hurt

Razor sharp, they cut and in blood I

Swim…

Should I try stem the flow

And heal with bandages of regret

Or let the rancor run itself dry so I

Skim…

But as it bleeds, it rushes

And spills, splashing my life crimson

Till all I see ahead is a red hued night

Grim…
