Second Mistake

I thought I'd smile with the morning sun,

instead I weep with the lonely night.

Thinking there's nothing worth living for,

but you tell me I'll be "all right".

After shedding innumerable solitary tears,

I had foolishly dared to love again.

And now, I drown in a salty sea of tears,

back with the same heartache and pain.

You want me to put it past, to forget,

whatever I've felt, whatever I've said.

But, how can I make you see,

the emotions that spin in my head.

I wish my love would just disappear,

or maybe simply melt like a snowflake.

Something that you'll never understand,

something you'll always call a "mistake".
