Proud I Am

Proud I am to be part of a Nation

That  chooses a leader not on  caste or creed

Nor not being born within our shores.
But on trust that promises made

On platforms will percolate as benefits

Beyond the urban borders

And reach the parched lands

And lips but with hope in heart.

Proud I am to be a citizen of Country

That adopts a daughter in law

As a daughter, mostly a  myth in real life

But true in a Nation’s history.

Proud I am to be a brother

Of those who  illiterate in letters

 Stand educated by living.

And cast their confidence

As votes and when belied,

Wait for another chance to come

Than revolt with  guns.

Proud I am to be a citizen

Of a nation where we practice

Democracy. While the most wealthy

Ceased to be one with poverty of mercy.

The pictures never lied but The leader did .
