HIS GIFTS

It was just a chance encounter

when on the net he met her

As messages went to and fro

Their rapport began to grow
Companionship - he gifted  her...

They spoke on various issues

And discussed life in all its hues

Art, culture, philosophy, education

Economic crisis gripping the nation
Pleasant moments - he gifted her...

At first the chats were general

And then they started getting personal

He enjoyed her ready wit, she appreciated his intelligence

It was now more than mere net acquaintance
Friendship - he gifted  her...

True friends - the relationship flourished and bloomed

They were the thickest of pals soon

Delving deep he realized the pain gnawing her inside

Her joys she would share, but her sorrows hide
Understanding - he gifted her...

Gradually she opened up

Their friendship blossomed into love

In him a soul mate she had found

And now her world with happiness did abound
Love - he gifted her...

Passion grew, love poetry flew

Back and forth between the two

Basking in his love so happy she was

His "I'm busy" messages no alarm did cause
Then a pen - he gifted  her...

Poems on love she did write

But soon the ink in her pen dried

He was her world, but he had moved on

To sing to some other his love song
Tears - he gifted her...

Broken was she, so totally shattered

For her he was all that mattered

His words echo in her ears

Even after all these years
Bittersweet memories - he had gifted  her...
