Friendship is a dirty word, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Get me some chocolate now, I want to wash it out!!!

I’d heard that you find friends, who are just like you.

Still scratching my head and wondering why, I came across YOU!!!

Friendship for you was never ‘give’, it was always ‘take’.

Ultimately there had to be an end, to all the compromises I could make.

Whatever in you I confided, the next day was national news,

The whole world knew what I had said or done and wanted to air their views!!!

I was what you boasted about, when you were out with friends,

My life, my smile, my God-knows-what…Sigh!!! Forget it ‘FRIEND’!!!!!

Am often asked, if it was so bad, why the demise of it I lament?

The reason is that my frustration and anger, somewhere I have to vent!!!

I crib and whine, write poems too, on how friendship is such a chore,

But when I’m over this I know, I’ll go out and make some more!!!!
