Blindness

Eyes that suddenly weep a searing burn

That has risen from those cold embers

Leaving a trail that scorches and scars

Making me wonder if I will ever learn

A thick cloak of care do I so bravely wrap

To ward off the biting winds blowing

Covering my ears to block the howling

That resounds within, time again so sharp

Blindly I grope in the inky fearful darkness

Eyes wide open mouth wearing a grin

But panic raging, playing havoc within

Praying silently for release from this carcass

Abandoned is my search I try to believe

Love will drift my way if it may

And no longer will I wander astray

Peering in every face, waiting for it to reveal
