I've done all that I could
Have given my best shot to motherhood...
The children I did lovingly nourish
Our home I did caringly cherish
Took on responsibilities so you could flourish...
Willingly, happily - never did I complain
Hiding from all my aches and pain
Without making any demands
I tried to fulfill all your commands.

Yes, you've achieved success, the boys have grown
And have made niches of their own...
Even though it wasn't a ball, I've enjoyed it all
Three happy, loving men - my reward....
But I lost myself somewhere on the way!
Just being wife and mother night and day...

The woman in me now wants to be free
A little space for myself I do seek.
I've shifted high on my priority list!!
And want to make up for opportunities missed..
No longer at anyone's beck and call
At fifty I gift myself freedom from it all!!!!
