AFTER THE FAIRY TALE

‘And they lived happily ever after’……

After every fairy tale, this is the line we hear

How much truth is there in this?

Have you ever given a thought my dears?

Because after one is married, starts a whole new life

Things change when lovers, become Man & Wife.

There’s less of love & tolerance, and more of anger & strife.

There’s work to do, and bills to pay.

There’s more to hear, and less to say.

No longer are you free, happy, and gay.

Responsibilities multiply, finances deplete.

First there was just you, now there’s a fleet.

Uninterrupted sleep…now that’s a dream that was sweet!

I want this!!! You want that!!! Oh why do they have a bigger car!!!

Oh Dammitt! Why did I marry you!!! You can’t even unscrew a jar!!

So step into reality, don’t fantasize.

Fantasies are boats you travel in, which can anytime capsize.

Nothing is happily ever after, marriage is an equal partnership between two.

Happiness doubles, sorrows halve, when shared by ‘me’ & ‘you’.

So forget all your troubles, go out and have a ball.

Don’t believe in all the stories you hear….they are fairytales after all.
