Mind Changers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A beautiful young girl of age acting so bold
Ended her life and will never have a chance to grow old.

Her friends watched and encouraged her on
An unfilled and empty note in the human song.

She ingested more than once to the glee of all
Seldom did they help her when she would fall.

They sat and laughed and drank their own brew
No one felt guilty for not helping their friend too.

On the street and on the wall and on the trees, their feeble words again
Messages that reflect finality and not a future of when.

As always the life was taken with the support of others
Students and friends who profess to be their sisters and brother.

Words of responsibility not spoken or fall on deaf ears
Believing that guilt can be cleansed by flowing tears.

Such short memories and to exclude the future of our best
The adventures they select when young, often can be a test.
