LOST SUMMER

It is a chilly autumn’s eve almost, and

The frost peeks there around the corner,

Small flakes of crystals will soon begin to float

Down, and fly free in the wind;

My winter is around the bend.

Have I already lived past the spring

And summer of my life, I muse aloud?

Why then does it feel as if

The spring of my youth, has surely

Just begun---

Summer completely evades my mind;

When then did it melt away, and flow and merge

Into the dry rivers of my parched life,

As they rushed on the plains of my tired existence-

Where O where did my summer go, for

I feel as if it has been misplaced somewhere

Unfairly, lost surely by him who controls my life so!
