Little
Jay

To me
comes Little Jay .
Entranced , I hear it sing .
but soon it flies away .
I passed
it on the way .
It had an injured wing .
To me comes Little Jay .
Exclaimed I in dismay
and bandaged its left wing
but soon it flies away .
I feed
it night and day
It's hungry , the poor thing !
To me comes Little Jay .
I pray
no beast will prey
upon it . How aching !
but soon it flies away .
Whistle
to me a song gay
or a murmur of spring.
To me comes Little Jay
but soon it flies away .
