America's Family

You don't have to call me sister or brother
Treat me with respect and dignity given also to your Mother
I do not ask that you do for me and allow others to wait
But I do believe life should be lived now before it is too late.

Do not allow time to continue the evil of resistance
Rather take the good out of persistence
Just as babies demand food and touch
They know who in the family loves them very much.

Color of skin should not be an issue nor do babies care
Life will soon enough make each of them aware
Why can't we transfer a reasonable attitude and emotion
To include asking God as part of our devotion.

The God from the Hebrew before the son of man
A journey with words that we do understand
As part of the past with words that are sacred too
From the beginning of creation unto me and you.

The name of our God is not an important role
Rather we believe in life and our eternal soul
Not to look for a God that has a specified color of face
Nor towards a nation that favors a given race.

If we call our God from human specificity and name
We may have to greet silence and then whom do we blame?
We humans are related unto our God of energy and light
Each one of us can help stop interracial and religious strife.

We do not have to hug or touch or even speak
Only our actions reflect a fairness and equality for the weak
Our coming together will be recognized by God from its bounty
To solidify and guarantee the continuation of this Mother country.
