A MEDLEY OF PRAYERS

'Dear lord! I praise your name
I know my time has come-
I want to thank you for the last time
Thank you Lord! For all your blessings-
My wife, the children and little Ray-my very center of life
God, I am happy and at peace with life
Take me away- I'm prepared to fly'

'Dear Lord! Coming to you has become a habit
With all my joys and sorrows
All my struggles I have borne with your blessing
You have seen me through
I am ever thankful for the worthy mate you bestowed me with
But now he is in pain, his plight pains me much
Free him God, show mercy on him - I'll no more be selfish'

'Holy Father! I am in great hurry
I'm late for the office- boss must be in a fury
This business of papa's illness- has unsettled my ordered life
Give him a decent end and me a respite
Hope I don't seem ungrateful in your eyes'

'O God! At last I have found some moments free
The dreary job of housekeeping leaves me tired and jumpy
Why always, I am expected to do the chores?
Couldn't the old man go to other son's place?
Damn the ma-in -law! always moping and weeping
Can't decently enjoy the TV. soaps in the evening'

'Dear God! I don't know what to say
I am small - and never felt the need to pray
But since Grandpa has taken to bed- I don't like anything at all
Oh God, please make him the happy old buddy again and help Grandma laugh!
And if as the doc says he can't be cured
Then release him from pain- I love him so.'
