YOU
CAME
You came on a
stilly night
And woke me from disturbed slumber
To a disturbing ecstasy.
You offered
Me the forbidden cup,
I drank-
And the world passed me by
In a flurry of colours,
I drank----
And I drowned in the sweetness
That played truant with my senses,
As all else paled into delightful insignificance.
You and I existed,
And the world did not.
I challenged Fate with love-burnt lips,
And Fate did in fact laugh----
You went away with the forbidden cup,
Before I'd had enough.
