MOVING ON

I cast one last lingering look
At the burnt bridges behind us
The ashes sodden with tears - yours and mine.
One last lingering look... then I must move on
This self-exile from love, from happiness
This wallowing in self pity, has been
Interminably long.
I must move on to places less hurting
Where the sun shines and the seasons change.
Where life is not one long ,cold ,winter night.
With dogged determination I move on.
Cheered on, by my angel in deep blue.
