MELANCHOLIA

Blindness seemed bliss from start

When I saw you drift apart

Wish I wasn't blessed with speech

More a curse when anguish weeps

No sounds now appeal my ear

When those of love I fail to hear

The bitter taste of words you spoke

Still lingers on.... it leaves no hope

Insensitivity always succeeds to heal

Your reassuring touch when I yearn to feel

Alas! Life is a far-fetched dream for me

For, by the hour loneliness consumes me
