CHERRY BLOSSOMS

Spring is here with colours galore, and

cherry blossoms' enamouring centaur

oh! what a pretty sight this is,

witnessing carpet of pink and white

The bloom is in its growing prime

satiating the hungriest appetite

delicate as a newborn's skin

swaying with euphony of wind

Their petals that to pollen are curled

seems to its stave the emblem furled

bunched around the woody stalk

as the seagull to the flock

Alas! efflorescence will soon subdue

cherry blossoms bidding adieu

like the shadows of setting sun

enthroning the darker ones.
