While you sleep

Lying warmly by my outstretched hand -
sleeping, covered up in calm repose
Eyes closed, as if she understands.

Lights of a car passing by,
               down on the road below
play patterns on her face,
               and is gone, leaving ..
us once again in the happy halflight,
                                                        solace.

And all is quiet, quite
like the silence of the oceans
that flows between us, flew us away.

Her breathing's shallow now, and
                           the air's grown thin -
tickling fingers tiptoeing on the
pale blue mosaic of her transparent skin
feeling, feeling that she is.

And then she smiles, slow curl of her lips -
while yet she sleeps,
And in that one moment I had
all to myself - I thought
I had never believed in God -
but for that single moment, just only then
I believed in Heaven.
