Ephemeral Angst

Driving down the painfully crowded roads,

Heat and tension compelling my anger to erode,

Why can't we fly to our destination?

Made for a wishfully funny question.

There came another red light,

I saw a baby in a car with eyes shining bright,

She smiled and waved me a hi,

I felt a cool breeze pass me by,

In a blink I could feel all frustrations vanishing,

As if conflicts of the journey were perishing.

When did the light turn green I am not sure,

I was still lost in that moment of pleasure,

The infectious smile had made my heart warm enough,

Keeping myself from smiling was getting increasingly tough.

A tiring day transformed into an evening reliving,

'A smile can do wonders' are words worth beliving,

Still fresh from the experience, I parked my car,

Saw another pair of lambent eyes, smiling like a sunflower,

This time they belonged to a familiar reflection,

Ah! it was mommy greeting me with affection!
