Till the end of my life...

As you sat across the table staring at me

I wished that you would hold me,

We must have talked on 'n' number of things:

The past, present and what the future would hold for us.

What would we be like when we are fifty plus

I saw us together, hand in hand

Walking in a park,

Still holding each other close in the dark.

I wondered how it would be like

To feel the warmth of your embrace

And the happiness was shown on my face,

I wondered what you were thinking

What, according to you, would the future bring?

I sat there, eyes glued to the table,

Too shy to look into your eyes

Staring at the glass reflecting you

Waiting for you to make a move,

But you sat there, still staring at me

As if your eyes were loving me to the depth of my soul.

Finally, I looked up at you and our eyes met

And I could feel my heart thumping within my chest,

I was waiting for the moment

When you would say it all.

Had you asked me, I would have said yes

But my heart still waits for you to confess

I would be there to share my life with you

Even at fifty we can begin life anew

Just call my name and you'll find me by your side

Till the end of my life,

I'll be waiting to be your bride
