I sat in silence,

as the world spun round,

hearing you sing to me,

your words echoing in my ears.

I stared into your eyes,

those orbs, so soft, so velvety.

Wanting to tell you all,

the words that floated in my mind,

but I just sat in silence,

smiling,

drowning in your eyes.

The notes of your melodious voice,

melted within me,

and I wished myself to dissolve,

in your lovely being.

I should have said everything,

all that I held back inside.

But, I listened, enthralled,

to your captivating, sweet voice,

I felt reality slipping away,

and there was just you and I.

So, I sat in silence,

letting unspoken words hang heavy.

The words not said rang louder,

than anything I'd have said.

And I still sat in silence,

wondering what might have been….
