REVELATIONS
I have been the queen
of despair,
I have seen through the murky light,
My hope has brought about war,
My love brought down empires.
Mine is the joy of a thousand,
Weeping at the beauty of this world,
To sink into the consciousness of sorrow,
Only to embrace the order of death.
Should a slave tempt
his chance,
And stride through the fires of hell,
If an eagle should soar so high,
Above the mountain's icy tips,
Then take a slave to be a king,
And make darkness bring order,
For heartless chaos would rule,
Bring about the hope of peace.
Would a man throw down
his life,
Only to follow the road of destiny,
To rest upon the wings of a dream,
And bring him out of this reality,
Then an angel appears bringing death,
Giving hope that despair would end,
Brought by a blind child led by the dead,
That sees further than those called wise.
When a man becomes an
empire,
Upon the strength of his beliefs,
Only to have it sundered apart,
By the grief of a weeping mother,
Then fate would but give me death,
And make mine a thousand mirrors,
For life would be my dungeon of despair,
With death my only savior.
Would misery take me
out of this world,
Save me from my endless delirium,
And let chaos guide my faltering step,
To blindly lead me to heaven's gate,
But let this light cloud my sight,
And let my past come to bear,
Then burn the icy fires of hope,
For love brings nought but grief.
Foolish fate that
would guide,
The strings of this heart of ice,
Stumbles and falls into the pit of guilt,
To wonder, weep and mourn.
That which would be but is not,
That which would cease yet continues,
That seeks to guide but is lost,
Is but a lie behind the mask of truth.
