MY TREASURE

 When amongst my treasures

I am asked to pick and choose,

the choicest of my possessions

There’s none of greater value

than- ‘A true and eternal friendship’

grown stronger through trials & hardship.

When amongst my blessings

I am asked to name

that  which giveth me the inner peace

there’s not a sole material thing, so comforting,

than, a gentle word or kindly thought

that‘s arisen from a warm & sincere heart.

When amongst my pleasures

I am asked to quote

the thought that makes me soar

Doubtless ‘tis the mirth of friends

that affords me so much glee

much greater, than joy from luxuries can ever be.

I offer my prayers to the heaven above,

not to rob me, of my priceless treasure

or snatch away my divine blessing

or steal from me my wondrous pleasure

for life sans these for sure,

bound to make me feel, like the poorest of the poor.
