MY GUAVA TREE

 Stealthily he hops through

looking for a bite!

Changing colors of a ripening fruit

catches his beady eyes!

“I smack my lips ;

I have found something there!”

Chattering he jumps from the tree

leaving me to check his abandoned treasure !

The thin twigs sway from my weight !

Yet, I want to have that bite!

Plucking the fruit I climb down

“For me” Flashing a winning smile

I take my first bite !

Yes, it is a treat -

A half eaten fruit is always sweet !

*(In this poem I talk about my encounter with a little squirrel over a half eaten guava)
