I want my words to touch you
Caress you like silk

I want my words to burn
you
Till under the fierce
flame of them you wilt

I want my words to drench
you
When you didn’t even
realize there was rain

I want my words to help
you
Erase all your pain

I want my words to affect
you
Touch you deep in the
core of your heart

I want my words to give
you hope
To make a brand new start

I want my words to set
you free
From all the memories
that hold you prisoner

I want my words to form a
song
That you can sing even if
you are not a singer

I want my words to make
you chortle in glee
When the lighter sides of
life they make you see

I want my words to be a
mirror
To help you see things as
they are

I want my words to flow
like a river
Nourishing. Smooth. Deep.
Very far

I want my words to be an
echo of your thoughts
Your feelings reflected
in mine

I want my words to be the
bridge between you and me
And for a long, long time
sparkle and shine.
