YOU

You don't know-do you?
That I love you

You are the cosmos in which
I glide, breathe and exist
Your presence fills me with sheer joy and peace
You exude charm hard to resist

Caught in the hypnotic web whenever I set eyes on you
I grow in stature to be near you
So much so that I am alienated from my environs
I look an oddity among my companions

I know they think me queer
They pity my love that has no future
They realize you are far from my reach
That you are not cognizant of my little concoction of love and intrigue

But I am unperturbed-I don't really want to involve you
It suffices for me that you are where I can behold you
You are to me what I want you to be
I too need not hide behind the veneer of respectability

Reality often falls short of expectations of dreams
Familiarity breeds contempt-so it seems
So I have created a world full of love for you and me
How unromantic to shatter this idyllic heaven with reality!!
