THE WORLD TODAY

This round globe that swirls around

With a swarm of life in it abound.

An unravished beauty filled all over,

This heavenly ball that spins

Is the abode of life for ages-uncounted.

This round globe that swirls around

With humans and animals and birds and trees.

All life forms in equality, it shoulders

Encompassing them in its exquisite folds

Recognizing no barriers what so ever.

Yet, living on her pretty shell, what is that we do today?

Raging and fuming with hatred and violence,

We are thirsty for the blood of our fellow men,

Waging wars for reasons unclear,

Ravaging the harmony of the world around.

Yet, living on her pretty shell, what is that we do today?

Building boulders of brutality and aggression,

Creating rocks of cruelty and violence,

Carnages of humanity and life

Insurmountable by the frail world around.

Oh, man! Standing upright on mother earth,

Do try to value the purpose that she had stood for, so long.

Break those barricades of violence and hatred

Smash those fences separating you, by creed and color,

Stop the massacre of men in the name of religion

And let the religion of love and fraternity rule the world of today!
