THEIR DREAM

She had a dream,
An erotic dream
Her body bloomed
And spread
And flew
It encompassed her so
That even while she tossed
Restlessly
She didn't want to wake.

The telephone ring pierced
The voices invaded
But she saw her dream
And felt it real
So real, that she was damp
And hot
Her breasts had peaked
The nipples tender
Her loins were raw
And thighs ached from the invasion
The body burned
Lips swollen and pink
The mouth spread wide in a grin
How she dreamt, her lovely dream.

But beside her slept he
Also tossing and turning
He too needed the release of passion
He too burned, was restless
But neither
Turned to the other
Each dreamt their own dream
On the edges of that vast bed
Alone, unfulfilled.
Why?
Because the dream was a reality
A reality that awakening would not fulfill, instead
Awakening would turn the dream into false
And leave them both longing and at a loss.
