Life Versus Death

A tree falls !
Death to one tree that
brings oxygen and greenness !
Yet another !
So many fallen trees ;
so much pollution will be added
to this polluted world .

I saunter into the world of man..

I see death again !
Not to the trees !
It announces the end of
life to people
who once walked on earth :
occupied its space ,
mingled with the living;
unsuspecting that death is lurking .

I hear the cry of a new born infant .
Life starts in every nook of earth .
Parents of this new infant rejoice ,
plan how to feed ,
nurture
and educate this new life
flesh of their flesh ,
bone of their bone !

Who suspects that death has
spied the new life with evil leer ?
Yes , in some future time,
This life will belong to him .
He has only to wait !

And yet....

What parents don't welcome
the birth of their fresh and blood
celebrate
his life's walk on earth ?

Then I gather

While death takes away life,
birth brings new life back !

In the forest too , new trees
shoot up to replace the felled ones.

Nature has a law of balance.
There's hope in life.
