LIFE AND DEATH

Fighting a losing battle, eyes are closed but still,
Hints of life still there,
Life and death comes to me in togetherness,
But there is no battle,
For life shall give in to death gracefully
And death shall offer the ultimate offering,
I watch as life and death talk,
Life says to death "take me in your arms"
In the slow ebbing of a majestic dance,
Death replies "you look beautiful in floral white"
Asks the life, where were you? What took you so long?
Said death "I came many a time but gave way to your zest"
You clung to the music of life,
And I faltered to your songs of resolve,
Life says "there will be music though when you cling to me"
In the moans and tears of my beloved,
But the dance of life shall recede,
Life says "I want to surrender to you"
Through you I will reach still higher depths of wisdom,
Where life and death cannot trespass,
To the place where only god knows the path
