Give
Peace a Chance

Again we’re on the brink
And we may not sink
But we cease to think
Because of our past link
What is it that makes man
Hate another man
With so much venom
We can hardly fathom
Is it fear of the unexpected
That make them so dejected
That they would kill
Using all their skill
Is it just to keep going
Their machine producing
Machinations of destruction
Against another warring nation
The so-called peace maker
Is not a qualifier
For she sat by unrelented
As her own were maltreated
She went around the world so hot
Doing good or so she thought
Yet all her good deeds
Cocooned into bad seeds
I guess if we can’t learn from history
The media will get another story
Until some other bigger bully
Comes to continue this willy-nilly
All the billions spent on war
Can be used and will go far
Against the catalysts of this predicament
Destroying our beautiful blue environment
Yes man! declare war against poverty
The homeless, landless and child slavery
Hunger, corruption, nepotism and crime
The drug lords, warlords and other slime
If only man can give peace a chance
Can you imagine the new dance
We can have everyone without fear
Holding hands in unity and prayer
But and if we continue like this
We’re going to run out of bliss
Maybe you say, I am naïve, maybe not
For if we don’t change, we’re bound to rot
